L.I.A.R ANALYSIS

Front Cover

Language;  This magazine has used the name of the artist and is in the colour red, bold letters attract attention , suggesting danger. The title has been placed over the main image and in centre to show the importance of this name because it will feature a-lot in the magazine. this also gives the audience a clear understanding who this magazine is for, this is shown through the style of the font and the colour. The magazine is aimed at older people, preferable men because of the colour scheme (black, blue, white) and the font, style. Colour scheme is hinting towards the audience what kind of genre this is because red is danger and rock people are rebellious towards music, they show their feelings towards this type of music throughout the song.

Institution;  The magazine label is 'mojo' and the company who owns the magazine is Bauer and Phil Alexander is the main editor of the Mojo Magazine. Mojo was first ever published on 15 October 1993, the aim was to keep the classic rock aesthetic , the first ever magazine (issue) had Bob Dylan and John Lennon as its first cover artists.

Ideology; Mojo uses short snappy phrases like The Stones or Exclusive which is suggesting that it can only ever be seen in this magazine. The colours of these headlines red and balck convey the darkness of this magazine that is very emotional and shows that this is a roc magazine. Wearing a black suit seems more formal and more focused to older generation that prefer rock and roll.

Audience; The main image is a male that looks about in 60's which would attract a target audience of an older generation. Whereas the colours are black, red and grey which are dark colours, therefore would receive a target audience that are deep and emotional. The layout of this front cover will attract a variety of ages mainly males but can have an audience of females.

Representation; the main image has a hand pointing straight at you which intimidates you. His facial expression is angry and fierce which will gain interest people who are rebellious against music and just don't have that many emotions. This would preferably interest a stereotypical emo that dresses in black clothing and have few emotions and take life chances
